Opening Celebration Thursday 21st December 5.30 to 8.30 for drinks and nibbles.

The colours, textures and designs in all the things in our usual lives

whether a vase on a table, our gardens, the seascapes, nature at large or figments of our imagination can become landscapes .

Art allows our mind to wonder through all sorts of possibilities and to somehow translate the emotion of these landscapes.

We see the same thing through different eyes

It is exciting to share this exhibition with Sue Marsh, a close friend and our adult children.

Art brings us together!

I have lived in the Macleay valley for 33 years and been drawn to its natural beauty. The valley has provided much of my recent inspiration with the pandemic confining us to our immediate surroundings for the past few years. Often it has been the everyday surrounds of our garden or a walk at Delicate Nobby that has brought me solace and creative energy.

Ella Turton

My name is Ella Turton and I grew up in the Macleay Valley

I studied Graphic Design at Enmore Design College in Sydney and worked for 5 years in a Sydney gallery.

Throughout my life I have been attracted to painting and design

Through my close contact with prominent Sydney artists such as Elisabeth Cummings, Luke Scebaris and Amanda Penrose-Hart my interest has further developed.

I am a self taught painter with a love of natural landscapes and much of my inspiration is from the landscapes close to home

I now live and work in Newcastle with my partner and dog!

My artistic inspiration has evolved from the moments captured through my phone's lens. Our smartphones have indeed become powerful tools that allow us to document and preserve the beauty of everyday life in an instant. Transforming these images into artworks adds a unique layer of creativity, interpretation, and personal expression.

Finding inspiration in small, seemingly mundane things like a colourful leaf, a bird, or even discarded fish carcasses showcase the beauty in the ordinary. Through my art, I’m inviting others to pause and appreciate the details that might otherwise go unnoticed. Each piece I create becomes a narrative, a visual story that resonates with viewers and stirs their own emotions and memories.
