“Pre covid, I travelled to Kosciuszko National Park with Innes Artists, and I observed, sketched and photographed the dominance of shape in the mountains, but still the element of water appeared as the summer snow melted.

Since covid, the distance that I am travelling is between Port Macquarie and South West Rocks and consequently the subject attracting me, is light on water. From the rainforest creeks, rivers and the sea, I realise these places have been a catalyst to my creativity. The conditions at those moments, determined pallet, contrast and movement within my work.

Working on a large surface allows my freedom of expression and the use of paddle brushes compliments the loose nature I aspire to.
