Award winning local Kay Elliot’s paintings reflect her love of country life. Kay finds plenty of inspiration living in the Macleay valley
Contemporary Port Macquarie artist SUSIE GUNN uses contrasting light, colour, hardness and temperature to create expressive, bold and meaningful artworks reflecting our world.
Gunn is interested in the tension and juxtaposition between nature and technology. Using oil or pastel on canvas, board or paper her art explores the growth and decay of new environments wherein nature and industry compete and evolve into new landscapes.
Tasmanian artist Mark Herron has recently moved to South West Rocks. Working in a variety of mediums: pastel, line drawing, watercolour and oils; Mark is fascinated with Man’s place in the Australian landscape.
Mark’s artistic philosophy is “Look closely, there is (always) more to see.” My work reflects the light and unexpected colours of Australia’s vast, yet intimate landscapes - harsh, bold and subtle. This land deeply touches the viewer.”
