Japanese Textiles - Jenny Gifkins - Open Wednesday to Sundays

Jenny’s work has evolved through a lifelong love of textiles and fibre and for many years a passion for Japanese style and design. Along with her use of mostly Japanese fabrics, she incorporates both traditional and a more modern take on Japanese techniques such as sashiko, boro, shibori dyeing, as well as embroidery.

Woodwork – Roger Gifkins

As a woodworker Roger has specialized in detailed joinery and boxmaking for nearly 40 years. His earlier Scandinavian influenced designs have evolved over the years towards more oriental designs with a strong Japanese theme. More recently Roger and Jenny have been collaborating, with some of Roger’s boxes featuring Jenny’s embroidery and Sashiko panels.

Astrophotography – Roger Gifkins

Roger continues to develop his photography and processing techniques for long exposure astrophotography with distant galaxies being the prime targets.
