In My Backyard

My inspiration for this exhibition has come from the diverse and amazing local subjects that surround me. I live on a beautiful bush block near Crescent Head and have taken the time to gaze in wonder at the variety of flora and fauna that surrounds us.

Of course I must also include the amazing natural beauty of local beaches here on the Mid North Coast because I can never stay away for long and the coast is a source of meditation and happiness.

My mark making or drawing is with gutta (a rubber with dye) squeezed through a bottle with nib attached, followed by a brilliant palette of Drimarene K and Silk Designer dyes in the medium of silk painting.

In a world of huge challenges with Pandemics, drought, fires and floods I always turn to my art to find happiness, to be centred and to look towards a positive view of life.
