Shelley Power

Kaleidoscope is a collection of Artworks by three sisters, Suzie Kirk, Maureen Ward and Shelley Power, who spent their childhood growing up in the beautiful Liverpool Ranges. Their art portrays their love of country life and the beauty in nature. The sisters use a variety of mediums such as oils, pastels, watercolours, acrylics, leadlight, photography, glass melting and sculpture. Suzie still lives in the Liverpool Ranges. Her resonance with the natural bush and the abundant bird life is the driving force behind Suzie’s work. From acrylic landscapes, Australian birds and recycled metal sculptures. Suzie has a unique style of work, which is a combination of traditional and abstract. She also uses a variety of mediums to convey her passion for the subject. Her creative style includes acrylic on professional canvas, abstract seaside acrylic fluid art on boards and framed floral abstracts in alcohol ink. Suzie is a professional photographer who holds workshops and is the author of photography and trade books. Maureen’s journey has seen her explore through folk art, leadlight and mosaic with glass melting. Maureen now lives in the scenic Utungan Valley near Macksville. Shelley has a Certificate III in Fine Arts and has recently achieved a Diploma with Distinction for Art Therapy. She passionately believes that art can be extremely therapeutic and a great asset to one’s emotional wellbeing. Even as just an observer. Shelley has a traditional style of work and enjoys creating landscapes, birds and portraits.
