RECOVERY

The concept of the exhibition developed as I watched our natural environment recover from a series of “events” (fires and flood etc) which had which had caused astonishing decimation. The exhibition is predominately landscape influenced works and focuses on the resilience of the natural world to recover, change, and rebuild. I have used bright vibrant colours as part of a dialogue with my environment and to respond and reflect on this power. The exhibition also alludes to a parallel strength of recovery within our society. As I watched the natural world recover I also reflected on our ability to recover from devastating “events”. The recent corona virus pandemic comes to mind.
